Nau mai raa ki to maatou kura tuatahi o Raahui Pookeka, welcome to Huntly Primary School.
We are proud to be the oldest school in the beautiful town of Huntly. Our dedicated team of teachers works tirelessly to provide the best possible learning opportunities for our tamariki. They are supported by a fantastic group of Learning Assistants, office staff, our Learning Support Coordinator, and a hard-working caretaker, all of whom contribute to creating an engaging and nurturing environment for our learners. We also have a very active School Board and a passionate leadership team committed to enhancing the educational experiences of every child.
At Huntly Primary School, we believe in providing a wide range of real-life learning opportunities to broaden our students' horizons and deepen their understanding of the world. In addition to literacy, mathematics, and inquiry learning, we offer rich experiences in The Arts – music, dance, drama, and visual art – and a variety of sporting activities. These, along with our social and emotional regulation programmes, aim to help our students become confident, resilient, life-long learners.
We are excited to be introducing the Kiwi Can programme in 2025, which will further support the social and emotional development of our learners. In addition, we have begun implementing the Mitey programme, enhancing the way we support student wellbeing and mental health.
We look forward to welcoming and working alongside you and your tamariki as part of our kura whaanau.
He mihi nunui rawa,
Justine Brock
