Tena Koutou, Welcome to our Huntly Primary School Website

Our beautiful school is nestled in mature trees on the edge of Lake Hakanoa. We have a growing roll and currently have 12 classrooms, all sitting around 20 – 23 students to ensure that they all get quality learning opportunities. The Technology block is on site and local schools come to experience and learn the soft and hard technology of Cooking, Sewing, Woodwork and Robotics.

We have dedicated teachers who strive to plan exciting programmes and engage their students. We have a supportive Board of Trustees who are progressive thinkers and keen to get technology at the forefront in our efforts to prepare our 21st Century learners. We are a Positive Behaviour for Learning School (PB4L) and these practices are becoming embedded in who we are and how we are!

Keep an eye out for our new signage which will be here soon.

2020 has been a challenging year for all of us, but this is how we build character and learn perseverance, which is part of our Values.

We have a new uniform which is available for 2021 and will become compulsory for 2022.

It’s a very exciting time for us as we grow stronger as a community.

You are welcome to pop in and meet us all.

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L), improves the behaviour and wellbeing of children and young people.

PB4L is for all people throughout our school. It is a framework to help guide the systems created for individual students, groups, teachers, parents and whanau. It supports positive behaviour in situations of clear need, and in more settled environments.

Our school acronym is POWER!
