Kia ora Whanau,
I am Mrs Kisiona and I will be your child’s teacher this year. In Aroha Whanau our most important rule is to treat others with respect and use kind words. We are a class of year 4, 5, and 6 students.
This year we are excited to learn a new way of writing called Write That Essay. Students in our class are loving the new writing programme and are experiencing success!
We are also enjoying DMIC Maths which means Developing Maths Inquiry in Communities. This way of maths helps your child become a problem solver and builds oral skills to explain their mathematical thinking behind their solving methods.
We have an exciting Te Reo challenge everyday, where we speak Te Reo for at least 15 minutes and speak no English. As you can imagine, many of us started off very quiet, but we are becoming very chatty with the Reo we know and are learning new words, commands and phrases everyday.
If you would like to come in and see us in action we warmly welcome our parents to come and see what we do. Thank you to the parents who have already stopped by for a look and a quick hello. Our door is always open.
Ngā mihi, Aroha Whanau
